Fraser Island Holidays Guide
Fraser Island is a place of extraordinary beauty, with pristine white beaches, vibrantly coloured sand cliffs, and more than 100 freshwater lakes. Age-old rainforests grow along the banks of crystal-clear creeks. Fraser Island is 4WD territory, with tracks running along the beaches and in designated forest areas. Flora and fauna abound, and visitors are often rewarded with sightings of wallabies, possums, birds, dolphins, turtles and the wild horses known as Brumbies.
Fraser Island Holidays Planner
Whale watching is also possible on Fraser Island, which, at over 123 kilometres in length, is the largest sand island in the world.
Two-three day tours of the island can be arranged from Hervey Bay, or you can hire your own 4WD from one of a handful of reputable adventure companies who will kit you out with everything including camp gear and water storage and will organise your camping permits.
