guernsey holiday and accomodation guide

Lying in the English Channel is the beautiful islands of Jersey and Guernsey, part of the Channel Islands, and closer to North West France than England. Both English and French are spoken here and the Island has their own currency, although the British pound is widely accepted. Both Islands are easily accessible by ferry from Weymouth and Portsmouth (mainland U.K). On these Islands you will find the traditional English seaside holiday with a unique French twist. The streets have French names but the countryside is very much English.

Guernsey Holidays Guide

The sister island Guernsey has the same buzz about the place, just a little smaller with 30 square miles of landscape to admire. St Peter Port is the capital and as you would expect has restaurants, bistros, bars and boutiques, all deserving a visit, even more so because the Channel Islands are a tax free haven. For the more active tourist there is a long list of pursuits, both on land and sea. Hiring a bike and taking on one of the many cycle routes is always a pleasant way to take in the spectacular scenery. Whatever island you visit, you can be certain of a warm friendly welcome.
