beautiful coromandel holidays in new zealand

Located only a 90 minute drive or two hour ferry ride from Auckland, the Coromandel is regarded as one of New Zealand's favourite holiday spots, and has some of the nation's finest beaches and thermal springs. Hahei Beach has brilliant white sand and a charming seaside village with accommodation, restaurants and cafés. It is a great base to see the world famous 'Cathedral Cove', a much photographed white headland with a large walk-through cave, which was the location of the opening scenes of the movie Prince Caspian. The area is only accessible by foot or boat and there are many companies offering walking, cruising and kayaking tours of the area.
