Dorset Holidays Guide

If you travel a little further east along the coast you come to the county of Hampshire (Hants) that borders with Dorset. Again a favourite holiday hotspot with its seaside resorts like Portsmouth and Lymington. Perhaps the biggest reason to visit Hants is because of the New Forest, 150 square miles of forest, heathland and pastureland. Here you will find quaint holiday lodges, camping and caravan parks and quirky cottages to suit all accommodation tastes. If you a lucky enough you may see some of the wild horses that roam free. Hire bikes to explore and take in the spectacular scenery on offer.

Just a short ferry ride off the coast of Hampshire lays the Isle of Wight. Here you will find stunning hotels and restaurants dotted along the 60 miles of beautiful coastline. Visit the Waltzing Waters Show, located in Ryde on the north coast of the island. A fantastic synchronized water show that the whole family will love. On the west coast is Anum Bay, where Needles Park can be found. A unique tourist attraction that offers chairlift rides to view the islands famous lighthouse and Needles Rocks. More recently the Isle of Wight has become famous for its music festival that usually takes place in June, with artists such as, The Kings of Leon and The Kaiser Chiefs, whom have all recently played here. Where ever you choose to go, you can be sure of friendly people and a truly English vibe.
